Behold... the JoZone!

Hey! I'm JoTomo, and welcome to my little corner of the WWW! This site is a forever work in progress, so please bear with me as I modify the wonderful sadgrl.online's layout builder code into something uniquely Jo flavored.

I have lots of plans for this place! An art gallery, a live TV station with different programming blocks, a social space for friends, familiars and webmasters... The list continues for miles and miles. I won't spoil everything I have planned, but I am excited for you to see each idea come to fruition in due time, built with my own two hands, a keyboard, and a dream.

Amidst the downturn and collapse of several old-guard social spaces that has happened in recent years, people have had to find new places to connect with their friends and communities, or to simply disappear. This has given many, including me, time to reflect on what we seek out of the internet. The starry-eyed Jo of 2006 had been there right at the cusp of the great transition from a vast, decentralized wonderland of creativity and passion to a place of rampant creative restrictions where if you aren't using one of the 5 juggernaut social media platforms, you do not exist. We populate these dominant platforms in droves and rely on them to make friends, find jobs, share our passions with the world, and find purpose.

So what happens when the rug is pulled from under you? If you're not prepared, You lose everything. Friends of many years. Cherished sources of inspiration. Opportunities to learn and to grow and to share. I am no longer comfortable letting these deeply important aspects of my life be at the whims of the same untouchably massive corporations that wiped the impertfectly enthralling web of yesterday clean to make space for this perfectly manicured, hyperminimalist, no-fun-allowed web we have today and this site is my way of fighting against that. If you're into this particular flavor of person yelling at cloud, I'll put further thoughts into an article at some point here as there's certainly more to be said. In the meantime...

Thanks for checking out the site! feel free to poke around and see what you can find. There miiight be some secrets lying around here, waiting to be found by a curious web surfer. Who knows...
